Wii Fit Fun Game

Cardio Workout

Those who currently own a Wii console claim that is the greatest invention since writing. It creates a virtual world for the entire family. With our body motions we can control characters on the television screen. Entire families can now go bowling, drive race cars, play a guitar, and enjoy many other activities using the Wii controllers and certain body movements, without ever leaving home.

The latest entry into the virtual world of Wii is the Wii fitness program. Yes, a fitness program. The Wii designers figured that the Wii console had everyone up and moving already, so they introduced an attachment for the Wii called Wii Fit. The Wii Fit, which looks like a flat board, enables Wii users to perform a number of exercises and get themselves into shape.

As with any exercise machine or device, there is an up front cost. The Wii Fit board costs about $90. If you don’t have $90, it is too expensive. If you do, then it’s affordable. It appears, so far, that many people have found it to be an affordable device for maintaining family fitness. There is one caution, however. If you weight more than 330 pounds, the Wii Fit board cannot hold you. If you’re under that generous limit, however, feel free to go at it.

The Wii Fit does offer a number of useful exercises to help keep you in shape. One of the more interesting exercise challenges is the Wii Fit Ski Jump. You’ve no doubt seen Olympic skiers flying off the end of a ski jump, and perhaps been glad that it wasn’t you plummeting toward oblivion, but now, thanks to Wii, you can try it at home. You can realize the fitness benefits without incurring the dangers. The Wii Fit board senses your movements as you squat careening down the virtual slope, and senses you’re jumping as you leave the virtual ski jump; showing it all on the television screen.

With all tongue and cheek humor set aside, the Wii Fit board actually does help one to improve balance, strengthen abs, and work other important muscle groups. It is not, however, a total workout program. It’s a fun way to get some beneficial exercise, and is far superior in regards to general health, than the typical computer game that provides no fitness benefits at all.

Weight lifting activities at a vigorous level may involve heavy free weights, a nautilus weight lifting machine or universal weights and machines. Vigorous weight lifting exercises can help increase muscle strength and flexibility while improving endurance
